Easter in Norfolk 2027: egg hunts, brunch and services

Last checked Oct. 19, 2026. This page is updated each year at the same address. 2027 Easter events had not been announced when we checked, so we give last year’s city dates and say which year each is from. Facts come from Norfolk Parks and Recreation’s Winter-Spring 2026 course guide and its Egg Drop registration page.

Easter 2027 is Sunday, March 28. Norfolk’s signature hunt is the city’s free Eggs-treme Egg Drop, when a helicopter drops thousands of eggs over Tarrallton Park. In 2026 it was Saturday, March 21, a week before Easter; 2027 dates are not out yet. Spring break for Norfolk Public Schools starts the day after Easter.

Brunch

No Norfolk restaurant had posted a 2027 Easter brunch when we checked. We will list them here only from each restaurant’s own website. Our brunch in Norfolk guide lists places that serve brunch every weekend.

Church services

Holy Week runs from Palm Sunday, March 21, to Easter, March 28, 2027; Good Friday is March 26. Check each church’s own website for service times.

What is open

Easter Sunday is not on the city’s trash holiday list, and Good Friday is not a city holiday on the 2026 holiday schedule, so collection runs as normal.
