Spring break camp
Norfolk Parks and Recreation’s Spring Break Camp is for ages 5 to 12 (5-year-olds must have finished kindergarten): a week of themed crafts, games, guest speakers and a field trip. In 2026 it cost $50, or $25 with Power Up, and ran in April, the Winter-Spring 2026 guide says. The 2027 sites, dates and registration opening will be in the next course guide on the city’s Good Times page; registration is on NorfolkFun.

- Virginia Zoo, 3500 Granby St.: open 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.; gates close at 3 p.m. For spring break 2026 the zoo strongly encouraged advance tickets and gave $2 off to those who booked online. Norfolk residents, military, teachers and first responders get $2 off with ID (hours and prices).
- Norfolk Botanical Garden, 6700 Azalea Garden Road: open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily; the WOW Children’s Garden is open 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Garden tours and Bike Nights return April 1, the garden says.
- Nauticus and the Battleship Wisconsin, 1 Waterside Drive, downtown (nauticus.org).
- Chrysler Museum of Art, One Memorial Place: always free, with free parking; closed Mondays (visit).
- Ocean View beaches: Community Beach, Ocean View Beach and Sarah Constant Beach are free; last year lifeguards started Memorial Day weekend. See parks and trails.

Spring break is not a city holiday: city offices, libraries, recreation centers and trash pickup run on their normal schedules. The city’s 2026 holiday schedule lists no change for spring break.
