16 Norfolk restaurants and bars with outdoor seating, most on Granby Street and at Waterside downtown, plus one in Ghent.
Last checked 2026-10-23. Refreshed every three months.
Norfolk’s outdoor tables are concentrated downtown: most of the places below are on Granby Street, in the blocks north of Main Street, with Blue Moon Taphouse on the river at Waterside and a few more on Main Street, York Street and Monticello Avenue. In Ghent, Five Guys on West 21st Street lists outdoor seating.
How we made this list. OpenStreetMap, the data behind our local directory, tags only a handful of Norfolk places with outdoor seating, so most of this list comes from the Downtown Norfolk Council dining directory, which files each place under outdoor dining, checked against each place’s own website on 2026-10-23. Baxter’s, Five Guys and Leone’s state outdoor seating on their own sites. Three places whose sites did not load stay on the list because the downtown council lists them. We left out places on the council’s list whose own sites no longer give a Norfolk address or that have only a social media page. The list is alphabetical. It is not a ranking or a recommendation, and nobody paid to be on it. Run one of these places? Write to us to correct your entry.
