State report card
Virginia rates schools two ways. Accreditation shows whether a school meets the state’s Standards of Accreditation; a fully accredited school “submitted all required evidence to the Department of Education as prescribed in the Standards of Accreditation,” the profile says. The School Performance and Support Framework gives each school a score and one of four performance levels: Distinguished, Meets Expectations, Approaching Expectations or Needs Intensive Support.
- Accreditation: Fully Accredited for 2025-26.
- Framework score: 91.74, performance level Distinguished, in the state’s division summary.
Standards of Learning pass rates (share of tested students who passed):

Look up any address in the division’s Find My School map, or see the 2026-27 boundaries in its Redistricting Locator. Zones do not follow neighborhood or ZIP code lines, so check the address, not the area.
Middle and high school: we laid the division’s 2026-27 elementary, middle and high school boundary layers over the city’s 78,561 address points. All of the Tarrallton Elementary zone lies inside the Azalea Gardens Middle zone.
Its addresses are zoned for Lake Taylor High (73%) and Norview High (27%) at the high school level. Families on a zone edge should check their own address.
Scheduled to close: Tarrallton Elementary is one of four elementary schools set to close in June 2027, at the end of the 2026-27 school year, under Phase II of the School Consolidation and Facilities Plan the School Board approved on Oct. 15, 2025, the division said. The others are Granby, Lindenwood and P.B. Young. Students “will begin the 2027-2028 school year at newly assigned schools and will be given advanced notification.” The board held a public hearing on the Phase II closings and redistricting Oct. 14, the division announced.
